We know how frustrating it can be to try the latest diet craze, hoping that this is the one that finally sticks. Many of us blame ourselves when we can’t stick to rigid, restrictive diet plans. But what if we told you that it’s not your fault, that diets are actually set up to fail? After all, the diet industry is big business that wants us to keep buying the newest food products and diet plans. We are tired of seeing misleading information and empty promises on social media so we created our signature program, Weight Loss Without Diets. In this 3-month, one-on-one counseling plan, we use a unique approach to weight loss. We actually WANT you to eat. No more restricting food. No more good food/bad food thinking. No more feeling guilty when you eat food you enjoy. We give you freedom from scales, diets and counting calories. We help you break free from diets so you can reach and maintain your healthiest weight, once and for all!

Over the next several months, we are going to share some nutrition and behavioral tips from our Athens Nutrition dietitians, as well as from the mental health professionals at Calm Mind Therapy. This month, we encourage you to eat more – more vegetables, that is! Did you know that only 1 in 10 of us is eating the recommended amount of daily vegetables? Vegetables are so beneficial to our health. They are full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients and fiber that can help to prevent chronic disease and make us feel energized and vibrant. While you will often find conflicting diet information, everyone is in agreement that vegetables are good for us. Your goal for this month is to fill half of your plate with non-starchy vegetables. They can be raw, roasted, grilled, sauteed or steamed. Aim for a rainbow of colors throughout the week and finish the meal feeling satisfied but not weighed down.
