Thousands of dietitian/nutritionists swarmed into Philadelphia for the National FNCE conference where everything in the world of food and nutrition is on display. Well-known food brands like Siggi’s and Kodiak Cakes are side by side smaller brands like RUVI freeze-dried fruit and veggie drinks, Regular Girl fiber supplements and Chomps all-natural protein sticks. Free samples, coupons, and nutrition literature filled my bags.
Experts in every field of nutrition presented their knowledge on the most cutting-edge research. I attended lectures on the FODMAP diet for IBS and SIBO, the impact of highly processed foods on body weight, and hot-off-the-press research on the gut microbiome’s role in regulating blood sugar. After four days, my bags are filled with nutritious goodies and my brain is jammed with new information to share with my clients.
