January is a popular time to set resolutions and goals for the year ahead. Often, these include eating healthier, losing weight and getting in shape. While it is tempting to jump into an intense, restrictive diet after the indulgences of the holiday season, we encourage you to take a more thoughtful approach to changing your eating habits. If you hear about a diet plan that promises big changes in a short amount of time, trust your instincts – it is definitely too good to be true. If you read about a cleanse or detox promising to help you shed pounds, know that it is just a low-calorie diet in disguise. If you think the only way to get healthy is to cut out entire food groups, we have good news for you. You do not have to give up your favorite foods to reach your health goals in 2020. Small behavioral changes can help you achieve your resolutions. There is no one perfect eating plan. Fad diets don’t work because one specific diet is not going to meet the needs of everyone. Telehealth Appointments: If you want a little more convenience around scheduling your nutrition appointments, telehealth may be an option for you. Our dietitians can meet with you via our HIPAA compliant online platform. Not all insurance companies cover telehealth so you should check with your insurance about your benefit coverage for telehealth services.

Weight Loss Coaching: To help you kick-start your weight loss in 2020 and to keep you motivated and on track between your in-person appointments, we are launching virtual coaching sessions. Your weight loss coach will provide weekly telehealth check-ins and daily text messages to keep you motivated and successful in achieving your goals. Click here if you are interested and would like more information.

Cooking Classes: Where Delicious Meets Fast and Healthy: If you’re finding it hard to cook healthy meals because of your busy schedule, we can help. Our cooking classes are designed to give you simple, delicious recipes that can be made in under 30 minutes. Most recipes can be batch cooked, frozen and prepared in one pot or sheet pan.

Weight Loss Boot Camp: Sometimes you need more support while losing weight. For those of you interested in a more structured weight loss plan that provides group support, we are planning to launch a group workshop in 2020.
